BEREA, Ohio – Last weekend, Notre Dame College sent multiple student-athletes to the Sparky Adams Invitational, hosted by Baldwin Wallace University. In the final meet before the Mountain East Conference Championships,
DeAco Curry stood out, again, in the 800 meter, taking fifth place with a time of 1:58.17.
Along with Curry's performance,
Kalie Blaising posted a 13.22 in the 100-meter dash prelims, which placed her 13th in the meet. Dante Abrams took 19th in the 100m on the men's side, finishing with a time of 11.77.
Kyle Perry grabbed 18th in the shot put event, throwing 9.97 meters.
Both teams will now prepare for the conference championship meet, taking place this weekend, in Frostburg, Md. Six NDC student-athletes have qualified, and will compete beginning on Sunday, April 28.
Samantha Comer will be competing in the 100m hurdles and High Jump.
DeAco Curry will contend for the win in the 800m race and
Lucy Osztfalk will run in the 10k. The 4x400 includes Abrams,
Matthew Griffin,
Patrick McIlroy and Curry. Along with competing in the relay, McIlroy will also throw in the Javelin event.
