BETHANY, W.Va. – Last weekend, Notre Dame College kicked off its outdoor season.
Samantha Comer and
DeAco Curry both had a pair of top ten finishes at Bethany University.
On the women's side, Comer placed third in the 100 meter hurdles prelims, with a time of 15.36, and qualified for the finals. Later in the day, she officially took fourth place in the 100m hurdle finals.
Kalie Blaising posted a 1:07.30 in the 400m, which placed her in 18th on the day.
Gabrielle Minick finished 13th in the 800m (2:50.78) and 20th in the 1500m (6:13.02).
In the high jump event, Comer took another top ten, by leaping 1.43m and placed ninth at the meet.
In the men's 800m, Curry took eighth place, putting a 2:01.89 on the scoreboard, while
Patrick McIlroy (2:15.18) grabbed 17th place in the event. Curry also ran a 4:21.14 in 1500m, good enough for sixth place.
Matthew Griffin ran a 55.88 in the 400m dash, placing 16th, overall.
Kyle Perry was solid in the field events, placing 22nd in the discus throw (30.19m) and 25th in shot put (10.58m).
The Falcons will compete next at the Tiffelberg Open, hosted by Tiffin University, on March 30.
