GENEVA, Ohio – Notre Dame College track and field traveled to Spire Institute for its first competition since Dec. 2. The Falcons had several impressive performances, including
Samantha Comer qualifying for the finals in the 60-meter hurdles.
Comer also took flight in the high jump and had a mark of 1.5 meters, which was tied for seventh at the meet. And in the first heat of the 60 hurdles, she posted a 9.68, which was good enough for third place in the first heat and a spot in the finals. In the finals, she cut her time down to 9.58 and took sixth place, overall.
Kalie Blaising, competing in the 60 m dash, was a fifth-place finisher in the second heat, with a time of 8.48. She also took second place in her section of the 200 m dash final, at 28.34, which put her in 18th by the end of the day.
On the men's side, in the 60, Dante Abrams took fifth place (7.24) in the first heat, while Matthew Griffin earned fourth (7.23) in the sixth heat. In the 300 m finals, Abrams would also take first place in his heat, and 19th overall.
In the fifth heat of the 600 m finals,
DeAco Curry took the top spot, with a mark of 1:27.01, placing him in 17th, overall.
The Falcons had a 4x400 m relay team of Griffin, Curry,
Patrick McIlroy and
Joe Stokes. They took first place in the fourth heat, at 3:44.60.
