BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Mountain East Conference announced the 2019 Fall Conference Academic Honorees on Tuesday afternoon with 109 Notre Dame College student-athletes on the lists.
NDC was one of just two schools (West Virginia Wesleyan) to have over 100 student-athletes on the lists. The Falcons led the way in football with 21 players on the Academic All-Conference team.
NDC had 58 student-athletes on the All-MEC Academic Team with grade point averages (GPAs) between 3.70 and 4.00. The Falcons had an additional 51 on the Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll with GPAs between 3.25 and 3.69.
The football and men's soccer teams led the fall honors for the Falcons with 41 and 21 representatives, respectively. Notre Dame's volleyball team had an outstanding showing as 19 of their 21 student athletes made a list.
"I love when these lists come out every year because we are able to show off all the hard work our student-athletes put in while in the classroom," said Director of Athletics
Scott Swain. "It's not an easy task to balance school work and athletics so to see all the names we have as honorees is something to really be proud of."
