SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio - On April 16, Notre Dame College celebrated its Honors Convocation.
Madison Olszewski (softball) and
Dominic Buttazzoni (football) were given the 2024 NDC President's Award for Academic and Athletic Excellence. Along with that award, multiple student-athletes were given top honors for their achievements in the classroom.
Olszewski is an accounting and software development double major with a 3.42 GPA. During her time with the NDC softball team, Madison played in more than 80 contests and moved into the top 10 in program history in pitching appearances, earned run average and saves. She has also earned a spot on the Academic All-MEC team and is a member of the Dean's List at NDC. This past season she had a 1.95 ERA in the pitcher's circle and tied the single-season program record with three saves.
Buttazzoni earned his degree in the MBA program with a 3.97 GPA. During his time at NDC, Dominic cemented himself as one of the top punters in program history. He is a five-time All-MEC honoree, two-time Academic Achievement Award winner, two-time Academic All-Region, an Academic All-MEC selection and a member of the Commissioner's Honor Roll. In Notre Dame football program history, Buttazzoni ranks second in both punt yards and average yards per punt.
