CHARLESTON, W.Va. / Tiffin, Ohio / Elkins, W. Va. – The Notre Dame College men's and women's golf teams have been busy with a flurry of tournaments over the last 10 days. Both Falcon golf programs competed at the UC Golf Invite on Sept. 10-12, before the women's side traveled to the Berg Fall Invitational on Sept. 16-17, as the men's side went to the Davis & Elkins Tournament on Sept. 18-19.
Senior
Braden Nunez and freshman
Peter Malo Jr. paced the men's side while at the UC Golf Invite, posting scores of 73, 78, 76 and 75, 77, 75, respectively. As a unit, NDC tallied 914 strokes and a 12
th place showing.
Seniors
Erin Frey and
Olivia Jackson carried the NDC women's team with scores of 82, 84 and 86, 78, respectively as the squad totaled 695 strokes and 13
th place finish.
While at the Berg Fall Invitational, Notre Dame tallied 681 strokes, led by Frey's 11
th place showing with a 157 (77, 80). The Falcons finished in eighth place as Frey was joined by Jackson (77, 82) and
Catalina Uribe (82, 83) who placed t-13
th and 21
st, respectively in a field of 83 participants.
Earlier this week, the men's team hit the links and placed t-12
th at the Dr. Wally Edgell Invitational hosted by Davis & Elkins College. Nunez continued to play well with a team-best t-31
st place finish after shooting -1 (74, 72, 69). Nunez was joined by freshman
Zach Huscusson's +2 (74, 70, 74) and graduate student
Alex Rapp's +3 (75, 68, 76) for t-48
th and t-54
th place finishes in a field of 95 golfers.
The Notre Dame College men's and women's golf teams will be back in action on Monday-Wednesday Oct. 2-4 for the Mountain East Conference Men's & Women's Golf Championships, located at Avalon Lakes and Country Club in Warren, Ohio.
