LEXINGTON, Va. – The Mountain East Conference Women's Golf spring invite took place at Lexington Golf and Country Club from April 15-16. Notre Dame College had some strong performances throughout the invite. After the event, Catalina Uribe earned All-MEC Second Team honors, while Olivia Jackson took Honorable Mention. They are the first NDC women's golfers to earn All-MEC honors since 2020.
 
Uribe, a freshman who finished tied for fourth place at the MEC Championships in the fall, had an impressive two rounds last weekend. She posted an 86, on Saturday, and lowered her score by eight strokes to 78, on Sunday. Her total of 164 was good enough for 11th place out of nearly forty competitors.
 
Another student-athlete who improved her score on day two was Olivia Jackson. The native of Haskins, Ohio ended the spring season with several solid performances and that continued over the weekend. She finished with a 171 (88-83) and was tied for 18th.
 
Erin Frey also improved her score after finishing with a 92 on day one. She entered the clubhouse with an 87, on Sunday, for a two-day total of 179. The junior took 28th place.

The All-MEC women's golf team is selected based on individual performances by players during five rounds of MEC sponsored play during the 2022-23 season. The first three rounds of MEC play took place from Oct. 3-5 at Avalon Golf and Country Club in Warren, Ohio during the 2022 MEC Championships back in the fall. The final two rounds were played over the last two days at Lexington Golf & Country Club during the 2023 MEC Spring Classic.
