LERONA, W.Va. – In their final competition before heading to Avalon Lakes Country Club for the Mountain East Conference Championships, Notre Dame College had three golfers finish in the top ten at the Glenville-Concord Invite. The two-day tournament was held at Pipestem Golf Course.
Junior
Erin Frey, who finished tied for the top spot at this Invite in 2021, finished tied for third in 2022. She was the top Falcon after finishing with a two-day score of 164, shooting an 81, last Wednesday, and then finishing up with an 83, on Thursday.
With a substantial improvement on day two, junior
Olivia Jackson was not too far behind Frey, ending the tournament with a 165. After wrapping up the first day with an 86, Jackson dropped seven strokes to 79, and was one of only two student-athletes to end day two in the 70s.
Freshman
Catalina Uribe also improved on the second day of action to grab a top ten spot, tied for ninth. Like Jackson, Uribe finished day one with an 86. She then improved her day two score by three strokes to 83 for a total of 169.
NDC will get ready for the trip to Warren, Ohio as they compete in the MEC Championships from Oct. 3 until Oct. 5.
