Last Saturday, Notre Dame used a strong rushing attack of 230 yards to pick up a 31-24 victory. Lawrence was a major part of that, setting career-highs in rushing attempts (33) and rushing yards (182). He also scored two rushing touchdowns and caught two passes for 13 yards.
The native of Pickerington, Ohio became an immediate factor by running three times for 38 yards on NDC's first drive of the game, which resulted in seven points. He would finish the first quarter with eight carries and 69 yards, with an average of 8.6 yards per attempt.
Lawrence then carried the ball eight times for 52 yards in the second quarter, averaging 6.5 yards per carry.
However, it was the fourth quarter when Lawrence made the biggest difference. He only totaled 23 yards in the final 15 minutes, but he scored twice. With 8:06 on the fourth quarter clock, the Pickerington High School product found the endzone on a six-yard TD dash to tie the game at 24. NDC's
Jacalyn Morrison intercepted a pass to set the Falcons up on a short field and Lawrence was given the ball four times on the ensuing drive, which ended in a four-yard touchdown run to give NDC its first lead since the first quarter.
Lawrence and the Falcons will travel to Charleston this weekend to face the Golden Eagles, on Oct. 14. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m.
