Cameron Shirkey was perfect, making all three of his extra point kicks and two field goals, one of which broke the NDC program record. That performance against the University of Charleston allowed him to grab the Mountain East Conference Special Teams Player of the Week award, presented by The Health Plan. (

The native of Bloom Carroll, Ohio hit a 29-yard field, early in the second quarter, to pull NDC within four points, 14-10. But, the highlight of the day was his second made field goal. With 6:44 on the third quarter clock, Shirkey knocked through a field goal from 47 yards away.
That 47-yard kick broke the program record of 46 yards that was set by Shirkey on Oct. 8, 2022, against Frostburg State, and on Oct. 15, 2022, versus W.Va. Wesleyan.
On top of that, the Bloom Carroll High School product sent six kickoffs away for a total of 340 yards and an average of 56.7 yards per kickoff.
Shirkey and the Falcons will travel to West Liberty next Saturday, for a 5 p.m. kickoff.
