After the NCAA Division II football season came to an end last weekend, the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) released its final top 25 poll. Notre Dame College has been placed 23rd after receiving 94 points in the national rankings. (

NDC has been ranked in the final AFCA poll after every season since 2018. The poll was not released during the spring 2021 campaign.
This past fall, Notre Dame continued its dominance of the Mountain East Conference with a fifth consecutive MEC championship trophy at the end of the regular season. The Falcons had an overall record of 9-3, with a 9-1 mark in conference play, and qualified for the NCAA Playoffs for the fourth consecutive year.
The program has now won at least nine games in five of the last six full length seasons and has posted at least seven MEC victories in seven of the last eight full length seasons.
Following the 2022 campaign, 18 players were named to an All-MEC team and
Nathan Moore became the MEC Defensive Player of the Year. Moore would also become an Academic All-District member and First Team CSC Academic All-American, First Team All-Super Region 1 and First Team D2CCA All-American.
Wendell McClain and
Cameron Shirkey were named AP All-Americans and Shirkey finished in the top ten for the Fred Mitchell Outstanding Place-Kicker Award.
The Falcons set a program record with six Academic All-District members in the fall semester. The team also had five All-Super Region 1 honorees, the most since 2019.
The Notre Dame defense ranked first in NCAA Division II with six defensive touchdowns and by holding opponent's passing efficiency to 86.73. The Falcons also ranked second in the country with 20 interceptions, sixth with 28 takeaways on defense, ninth with a third down conversion defense of 27.1-percent, 10th with 157.2 passing yards allowed per game and 11th by allowing just 15.5 points per game. The offense averaged 31.5 points per game and totaled 242 first downs, which is 36th best in Division II.
