The Notre Dame College football program has had at least four players honored by the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) every year since 2018, and that streak will continue. On Thursday,
Nathan Moore and
Wendell McClain were named First Team All-Super Region 1 Defense, while
Cameron Shirkey took home First Team honors as a place kicker.
Nick Beans and
Antoine Holloway II took a spot on the Second Team. (

Notre Dame and Shepherd were tied for the most honorees in the region with five, each. The Falcons represented five of the 12 All-Region players from the Mountain East Conference.
Moore has been named Mountain East Conference Defensive Player of the Year, All-MEC First Team, Academic All-District and a Harlon Hill Trophy nominee in 2022. The native of Rootstown, Ohio is making his first appearance on a D2CCA All-Region team. In the NCAA Division II rankings, Moore is tied for 6th with 122 total tackles and is also tied for sixth with 70 solo tackles. In the Mountain East Conference, he ranks second in tackles, second in solo tackles and is tied second with 15 tackles for loss. This season he became the career leader at NDC in solo (207), assisted (172) and total tackles (379) and took over the program record for most solo tackles in a season. He currently sits in second place in MEC history for career tackles and, among active Division II career leaders, he is currently third in career solo tackles, third in total tackles and sixth in assisted tackles. In his career, he has been named Academic All-Region, three times, Academic All-American and a three-time All-MEC First Team member.
McClain becomes the first freshman from NDC to earn All-Region honors since Jaleel McLaughlin in 2018. The Tift County High School product was also named All-MEC First Team. This season, McClain was tied for second in the MEC with five interceptions and tied for fourth in the conference with 15 passes defended. McClain ranks tied for 13th in the country in interceptions and returned one interception for a touchdown on Sept. 17. McClain intercepted a pass three weeks in a row from Sept. 17 to Oct. 1. The native of Tifton, Ga. also blocked two punts. He was a part of a defense that is currently second in Division II in interceptions (20) and blocked punts (5).
The first kicker from NDC to earn First Team All-Region honors in program history is
Cameron Shirkey. Along with being named All-MEC Second Team, he was named to the October watch list for The Fred Mitchell Outstanding Place-Kicker Award. In his first full season as the Falcons' kicker, Shirkey took the top spot in Mountain East Conference history and program history with a field goal percentage of 90.4-percent. The native of Bloom Carroll, Ohio broke the NDC record, and sits in third place in conference history, with 19 made field goals in a season. In Division II, he is currently tied for second in field goals made this season and is 3rd in the country in field goal percentage. On kickoffs, Shirkey averaged 56.2 yards per kickoff, with 17 touchbacks.
Nick Beans received All-MEC First Team honors for the third time, but had never received All-Region recognition until this season. He started all 12 games at center on the offensive line and helped block for 242 first downs. The native of Akron, Ohio was a part of an offensive line that opened up the way for 1,734 rushing yards and 18 rushing touchdowns. The offense scored 31.5 points per game this year.
Antoine Holloway II has taken All-Region honors for the second consecutive year. After the regular season, Holloway was named All-MEC First Team, once again. The Maple Heights High School product was tied for first in the MEC, and fourth in the country, in passes defended with 16. He led the team, and finished second in the MEC, in pass breakups with 14. Holloway was all over the field and ranked second on the team in solo tackles (47) and third in total tackles (62).
