Release)
Nicholson, an offensive lineman, and Lee, a linebacker, were recently named to the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) All-America First Team. Both players are earning AP honors for the first time.
Nicholson took home his fourth All-Mountain East Conference First Team award and his third D2CCA All-Super Region One award this year. The Bedford High School product grabbed D2CCA All-America honors for the first time. He had come into this season as a two-time All-American, recognized only by the Don Hansen Football Gazette. Nicholson made his presence known this season, and throughout his career, as he placed second for the Gene Upshaw Award, given to the top offensive or defensive lineman in D2 football.
Along with becoming the first NDC student-athlete to be named Defensive Player of the Year in the MEC, Lee joins Jaleel McLaughlin as the only two players in program history to be recognized as an All-American from the American Football Coaches Association, the D2CCA and The Associated Press in one season. Lee was named All-MEC First Team for the fourth time and D2CCA All-Region for the third time. The Harrison High School product was nominated for the Harlon Hill Award this season, the award given to the top player in Division II.
