Men’s soccer wraps up regular season on Sunday

This Week: Notre Dame College men's soccer battles Alderson Broaddus University, on Nov. 7 with a 5:30 p.m. start time.

Records: NDC holds a record of 9-3-2 (8-3-2 MEC), while Alderson Broaddus enters the weekend with a 7-10 overall record, and a 6-9 MEC mark.

Coaches Corner: Carl Nolan is in his sixth season as head coach of the Notre Dame program. He has a record of 63-25-9 (54-16-6 MEC). Scott Phipps is in his seventh season with Alderson Broaddus.

Rankings: Neither team is ranked in the United Soccer Coaches top 25 poll.

Series History: Notre Dame has won its two matchups against Alderson Broaddus. Their first meeting came in the spring 2021 season.

Mountain East Conference Standings: NDC holds the third spot in the MEC. The top four teams advance to the conference tournament.

Noting the Falcons: Notre Dame has won four consecutive games, their longest win streak of the season. On Wednesday, the Falcons defeated Concord University, 3-0. Kane Bartolomew, Lukas Hackaa and Filip Sparavec scored for the Falcons. NDC took 40 shots in the game, which set an NCAA Division II era program record. Concord was held to three shots. The last time Notre Dame's defense strung together at least four consecutive shutouts was Aug. 30 to Sept. 12, 2018, when they had five in a row.

NDC ranks in the top 10 in NCAA Division II in several team categories. The Falcons have the top scoring offense with 3.86 goals per game and the highest points average with 10.86 per game. NDC ranks third in assists per game (3.14) and total goals (54). They are fourth in total points (152), fifth in goal differential (+37) and ninth in total assists (44).

Ned Dry is tied for the lead in the conference with 11 goals and leads the MEC with 26 points. Lukas Hackaa ranks seventh in the MEC in goals (7) and leads the conference in assists (8).

Noting the Battlers: Following a stretch of four losses in five games, Alderson Broaddus won back to back games. They defeated Concord (2-1) and Wheeling (3-1). In their win over Wheeling on Wednesday, AB scored two goals and took ten shots in the first half. Angel De Avila, Alberto Figueroa and Tanner Kidwell had the goals for the Battlers.

AB has been shutout four times this season. They have scored 28 goals, but have allowed 32. Andreas Rossak is tied for the team lead with six goals and leads the team with seven assists. He ranks second in the conference with his assist number. Tanner Kidwell also has six goals. Carlos Gallardo and Diego Gomez have split time in goal this season.
