LOUISVILLE, Ky. – On day two of the NWCA National Duals, No. 3 Notre Dame College took down No. 7 Tiffin University, 22-15, to punch their ticket into the fifth-place match. There, the Falcons faced No. 2 Pitt-Johnstown and NDC came up just short, 22-21, taking sixth place. (Day One Recap)

In the first matchup of the day, Notre Dame's No. 1 Hunter Bray (133) and No. 5 Kelan McKenna (141) both won their bouts. But after that, Tiffin earned three consecutive victories to take a 15-7 lead. The Falcons needed to respond, and they did.

Notre Dame won by decision at 174 lbs., 184 and 197. At 174, NDC's Emilio Fowler went up against No. 6 Hayden Bronne. After earning points with an early takedown, Fowler stayed ahead for the win. Heavyweight Jared Campbell came up clutch once again, with a pin of David Henson to give the Falcons a 22-15 victory.

Against Pitt-Johnstown, McKenna went up against No. 8 Jacob Ealy at 141, and the Falcons' grappler won. Later, Michael Viramontes won via decision and then Campbell pinned Allan Beattie, but NDC was still behind by one point.

"I'm proud of all the guys' efforts this weekend," said head coach Sonny Marchette. "Hunter Bray and Jared Campbell went undefeated on the whole tournament. (The result) wasn't what we wanted, but we have time and room to grow until the end of the year."

Next up, Notre Dame will take on No. 12 West Liberty University in a home dual meet. The meet is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. on January 17.
