WACO, Texas - The Notre Dame College football team stayed at No. 6 in the october 21 AFCA Coaches' Poll. The top six in the poll all held steady from last week, but there was a lot of movement underneath the top teams.
No. 7 Northwest Missouri State lost to Nebraska Kearney 24-17, which resulted in a drop to No. 14. The vacancy created a shuffle of the other top 15 teams. Lenoir-Rhyne (N.C.) moved up one spot from a week ago to take the open No. 7 spot, but Indianapolis may have been the biggest beneficiary. The Greyhounds jumped up to No. 8 after a bye week, topping No. 9 Slippery Rock who were previously ahead of UIndy.
Tied with the Rock is Colorado School of Mines at No. 9. West Chester, who lost to former MEC school Shepherd, dropped from No. 12 to No. 21.
Along with NDC, Slippery Rock and West Chester, No. 17 Kutztown and No. 19 Indiana are also representing the Super Region 1 in the poll.
Frostburg State earned four points in the voting this week, but did not crack the top 25. The Bobcats have won six straight after losing to West Virginia State in Week 1. New members of the MEC, FSU is in its first year at the NCAA Division II level. Frostburg State will host the Falcons next week.
