WACO, Texas –The final AFCA Division II Coaches' Top 25 Poll was released on December 17 and the Notre Dame College football team moved up seven spots to No. 4. This is the first ever top-10 ranking for NDC in program history.
The Falcons finished the season with a 13-1 record, with their only loss coming at the hands of Valdosta State, the eventual NCAA-II National Champion, by a score of 30-24 in the NCAA Playoff Semifinals. Valdosta State defeated Ferris State last Saturday for the top spot.
Notre Dame's
Sha'haun Williams and
Jaleel McLaughlin were recently named AP All-Americans, while Williams, McLaughlin and
Jimmy Burchett were named All-Americans by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association.
Austin Treneff was named Academic All-American by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Other than the Falcons, there were three other teams who moved into the top-10. Lenoir-Rhyne (8), Texas A&M-Commerce (9) and Northwest Missouri St. (10) all moved up at least six spots.
