Coaches Corner: Carl Nolan enters his third season at the helm of the NDC men's soccer program. He currently holds a record of 33-14-3, overall, and 25-9-2 in the MEC. James Regan is in his 35th campaign at the helm of WJU and has a record of 375-245-57. Nick Roberts is in year number 11 with Urbana and last year, the Blue Knights put together a record of 10-7 and 8-4 in the MEC.

Rankings: Notre Dame is currently 21st in the United Soccer Coaches poll and third in the Atlantic Region.

Series History: The Falcons are 11-3-1 against Wheeling Jesuit since the series began in 2005. NDC has a record of 13-6-1 since 2001 against Urbana.

Noting the Falcons: Notre Dame went 1-1 last week, defeating Shepherd University 5-0 on October 18 and then falling to No. 4 University of Charleston on Sunday. Against Shepherd, Nicholas Felician scored the game winning goal and then assisted on a goal by Arthur Favero before scoring his second goal of the game. David Perez Torralba and Varis Singh Khera each had a goal. On Sunday, Notre Dame tied the game at one in the 53rd minute with a deflection off of Lewis Norvock against UC. NDC lost in the 97th minute as Christos Charalambous knocked in the golden goal. Arthur Favero leads the team with 11 goals, seven assists and 29 points. Nicholas Felician has seven goal, including three multi-goal games, and leads the team with four game winners. Daniele De Angelis has made 36 saves.

Noting the Cardinals: Wheeling Jesuit is one of only two teams to beat NDC this season, winning 2-1 on September 20. Since that time, the Cardinals have a record of 5-3. Last Thursday they lost to Urbana University, by a score of 2-1, in overtime. Martin Minuzzi scored the only goal of the game for WJU, but Zach Poff finished the game for the Blue Knights with a header in the 94th minute. On Sunday, Minuzzi scored in the 72nd minute and that was all Wheeling Jesuit needed in their 1-0 win over Concord. Martin Minuzzi leads the team with 10 goals, four game-winning goals and 23 points and is tied for first in assists, with three. Although the Cardinals have used three goalkeepers (Jonathan Bosmyr, Josh Zimmerman, Tyler Shotwell), Josh Zimmerman has gotten the most time (seven games) and has 25 saves and three shutouts.

Noting the Blue Knights: Urbana has had a very hot and cold season. They have had only one winning streak this year (three games from September 16 to September 23) but still have seven wins. Following a win, they have lost, or tied, a game five times this season. Urbana pulled off a bit of an upset, defeating Wheeling Jesuit last Thursday, 2-1 in overtime. However, they fell to West Virginia Wesleyan by a score of 4-1, on Sunday. Jake Wischmeyer and Zach Poff scored on Thursday and Jasminko Dizdarevic scored on Sunday. Dizdarevic has eight goals and two game winners this year. Jakob Henriksen has played 15 games and has a save percentage of 0.736.
