This week:Â No. 11 Notre Dame College will play two conference games against Shepherd University on October 18 and then No. 4 University of Charleston on October 21. Those games will start at 12 p.m. and 4 p.m., respectively.
Records:Â The Falcons are 11-2, overall and 8-2 in the Mountain East Conference. Shepherd is 1-13, overall, and 0-10 in the MEC while Charleston is 12-0-2 (10-0-1 MEC).
Coaches Corner:Â
Carl Nolan enters his third season at the helm of the NDC men's soccer program. He currently holds a record of 32-13-3, overall, and 24-8-2 in the MEC. Alex Jones is in his second season at the helm of SU and has a record of 1-30-1 (0-22 MEC). Dan Stratford is also in his second season as head coach at Charleston and has a 33-1-4 overall record and is 21-0-2 in the MEC.
Rankings: Notre Dame is currently 11th in the United Soccer Coaches poll and third in the Atlantic Regional Poll. UC is now ranked No. 4 in the latest poll and first in the Atlantic Region.
Series History:Â The Falcons are 11-0 all-time against Shepherd since the series started in 2013 and they are 3-11-2 against Charleston since 2012.
Noting the Falcons: Notre Dame is coming off of another strong week. They went 2-0 and completed their ninth shutout of the season on October 9, against Daemen. They also defeated West Virginia Wesleyan 4-1, on October 14.
Arthur Favero was named MEC Co-Offensive Player of the Week after scoring two goal and assisting on two goals.
Paolo Termine was the Defensive Player of the Week after the defense allowed just one goal in two games and also did not allow Daemen College to take a shot, last Tueday. Termine also assisted on two game-winning goals.
Daniele De Angelis is currently tied for first in NCAA Division II with nine shutouts. He is 14th in goals against average at 0.658 per game. Favero leads the Mountain East Conference in points-per-game (2.08), goals-per-game (0.77), goals (10), assists-per-game (0.54) and assists (7).

Guilherme Gloria Albuquerque is ranked fourth with two game winners. NDC leads the MEC in goals with 34 and goals-per-game with 2.62. The Falcons also lead the conference in assists (29), assists-per-game (2.23) and points (97). They are second in the conference in goals allowed (8) and goals-per-game average (0.61).
Noting the Rams: Shepherd won their first game of the season back on September 30. Since that 1-0 victory over Pitt-Johnstown, the Rams have lost four straight games and have only scored one goal in that time. Three players (Angel Servellon, Shamar Robinson and Steven Choque) are tied for the team lead with one goal for Shepherd. Jose Machado Orellana had been a bright spot for the Rams this season as the goalkeeper, but he left the Pitt-Johnstown game after 17 minutes in goal and has not returned to action. His 79 saves still rank him tied for sixth in Division II. Mike Lemay has taken over and has a save percentage of 71-percent through six games played. SU played Notre Dame close in their first matchup this season, but lost in the second overtime period by a score of 1-0.
Noting the Golden Eagles: Following a scoreless tie to Urbana, Charleston has won three straight games, outscoring their opponents 7-0. Charleston's defense has 13 shutouts this season and they've only allowed two goals all year, which came against Wheeling Jesuit on September 23. Freddy Tracey leads the Golden Eagles with six goals and two game winning goals while Nicolas Engelking leads the team with five assists. Goalkeeper Alvaro Dean is eighth in NCAA-II with seven shutouts while Ewen Le Gallo is 11th with six shutouts. Dean is first in the nation in goals against average, as he has allowed just two this season. Charleston is first in the MEC in points allowed (5) and points allowed average (0.38) and they lead the conference with just two goals allowed for an average of 0.15 goals-per-game. UC is second in the MEC with 31 goals and 2.38 goals-per-game. In the Golden Eagles' first matchup with NDC, UC won 3-0, on September 16.
