ERIE, Pa. - Top 10 ranked team, Mercyhurst proved its worth against the Notre Dame College baseball team on Tuesday in a 17-1 home win.
The Lakers were hot early, scoring seven runs in the first inning and rolled through the first four innings with a 15-0 start to the nine inning competition. Mercyhurst kept the Falcons scoreless until the final inning when

Seven different NDC players each recorded one hit in the road game.
Danny Beaver and
Nick Ely led the team in trips to first base each getting walked once and reaching on a single. Beaver added a stolen base for his 11th of the season, he ranks second in the Mountain East Conference in stolen bases this season.
Highlighting the pitching efforts for the Falcons were freshmen
Tyler Dalzell and
Danny Matic who held the Lakers scoreless in the final two innings. The two first-year players combined for three strikeouts on 12 batters faced. Matic currently ranks first on the team in ERA (3.97) among pitchers who have thrown for more than 10 innings.
Notre Dame returns home for a doubleheader against West Virginia Wesleyan on Friday, March 31. The games will be played at Sprenger Stadium in Avon, Ohio beginning at 1 and 3:30 p.m.
