Box Score
SALEM, W.Va. -- The Notre Dame College men's soccer team concluded the 2016 regular season on Saturday afternoon with a 2-0 non-conference win over the host Salem International Tigers at Catalano Stadium.

The Falcons (10-4-2 overall, 8-2-2 Mountain East) were led by goals from Thomaz Freitas and Leonardo Paiva, who each scored second-half goals to carry NDC to victory.

After a scoreless first half in which Daniele De Angelis made five saves in net for the Falcons, the NDC offensive attack came to life in the second half. In the 55th minute, Thomaz Freitas knocked in the opening goal of the game, scoring his third goal of the season to give the Falcons a 1-0 lead early in the second half.

The Falcons defensive front stepped up in the second half, limiting the Tigers to just four shot attempts.

Meanwhile, the Falcons attempted six shots of their own, including a late 88th minute goal from Leonardo Paiva. The junior forward scored a clutch insurance goal in the final minutes to extend NDC's lead to 2-0, securing the road win for the Falcons.

With the 2-0 win at Salem International, the Falcons finish the regular season with an overall record of 10-4-2 overall, earning a berth in next week's Mountain East Conference Tournament.
