INDIANA, Pa. -- The Notre Dame College men's golf team concluded the 2015 Spring season on Sunday, April 19 and Monday, April 20 at the 52nd annual IUP Cecil C. Spadafora Invitational. The Falcons placed eighth among 13 teams at the Invitational, which was hosted by Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
The Falcons shot a cumulative team score of 605 at the two-day competition, and were led by
Brian Bir and
John Baggott.
Bir shot a 75 on Sunday before shooting an impressive 72 on the second and final day of action on Monday. Bir's combined score of 147 the best individual mark for the Falcons, earning him T-20th place overall.
Just one stroke behind Bir was Baggott, who shot a 72 and 76 in successive days to finish with a 148 overall. Baggott finished the Invitational with the second highest mark on the team, placing T-25th overall.
Also placing for the Falcons was Phatarachai Kaveekiijpanukk, who placed T-45th with a 156 overall score. Anthony DiPaolo finished just one stroke behind, placing T-45th with a 157 score at the two-day event.
Tim Straka also competed for the Falcons, finishing the Invitiational with a 164 overall score.
