Men's Soccer Adds To The Celebrations, Wins 4-0

Box Score
SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – The No.7 Notre Dame College Men's Soccer team added to the homecoming and field dedication celebrations with a 4-0 victory against the visiting Mountain Lions from Concord.

Playing in constant rain the Falcons (10-1-0) were led by the scoring of Adam Mitchell, who scored his eighth and ninth goals of the season.

Starting quickly, following the Normandy Field dedications, the Falcons opened the scoring in the 15th minute when Adam Mitchell showed great determination to chase down a through ball and create a scoring opportunity. Mitchell, who leads the Falcons in scoring, powered his shot into the bottom right hand corner.

The Falcons quickly doubled their lead in the 21st minute through Ryan Ware. Ware, who put in his strongest performance of the season, uncharacteristically scored with his right foot rather than his usually favored right foot.

The Falcons started the second half in a similar way to how they started the first, with an Adam Mitchell goal. This time Mitchell was assisted by Julian Giannotti to score his ninth goal of the season.

The homecoming performance was given some shine in the 86th minute when Martin Lange crossed expectedly to Stefan Bogdanovic, who finished emphatically.

Jan Skorupinski and the Falcon defense produced their fifth shutout of the season.
The Falcons will now travel to Charleston to take on the Golden Eagles on Wednesday Oct. 9 with kick off slated for 7 p.m.
