URBANA, Ohio – The Notre Dame College men's soccer team remained unbeaten in Mountain East Conference play with a hard fought 2-1 victory at Urbana.

The No.7 Falcons (8-1-0) used two Adam Mitchell goals to beat the Blue Knights from Urbana and secure a valuable away win.

The game started slowly with both teams adjusting to each other's style of play. It was the Blue Knight who scored first through Ben Fitzpatrick who latched on to a through ball and chipped goalkeeper Daniel Nagy.

The Falcons got an equalizer from Adam Mitchell in the 27th minute. Martin Lange played a corner kick short to Christopher Fairley who provided a whipping ball into the box, Mitchell was able to rise above his defender and flick the ball into the top left corner with his head.

NDC started the second half rejuvenated and with added spark, they controlled the ball better and created a number of chances. Again it was Adam Mitchell who provided the goal scoring touch for the Falcons in the 50th minute. Martin Lange cleverly beat two defenders down the right side before providing a low cross into the box for Mitchell to bundle into the net and score his seventh goal of the season.

The Falcons survived a nervous last ten minutes but held on to secure a solid away victory. Freshman Daniel Nagy recorded his first win of the season in goal for the Falcons.

"It is wins like this that will count at the business end of the season," said Associate Head Coach Carl Nolan. "Urbana are a good side and to come here and to get a win is a credit to the team. We started slowly but were able to recover and put in a performance in the second half to get the win."

The Falcons will return home to take on Concord, during homecoming weekend, on Saturday Oct. 5 with kick off at 12:00 p.m.
