BUCKHANNON, W.Va. -- The Notre Dame College men's soccer team came from behind twice to defeat the Bobcats from West Virginia Wesleyan 3-2.

The #11 Falcons (11-2-0) fell behind early when the Bobcats scored through Jordan Halpern in the 11th minute. The Falcons, however responded almost immediately through Adam Mitchell. Mitchell scored his 11th goal of the season in the 14th minute. Mitchell latched on to a diagonal pass from Martin Lange, cut inside a defender and powered the ball past the keeper.

A frantic first 20 minutes concluded with Halpern scoring his second goal to give the Bobcats a 2-1 lead at half time.

NDC persisted throughout the second half and were rewarded in the 61st minute when Declan McGivern scored his first goal of the season to pull the Falcons even. McGivern was able to connect onto a Martin Lange free kick and provide one his trademark headers, this time into the back of the net.  His center back partner Philip Cutler then scored the winner for the Falcons in the 66th minute. Again Martin Lange provided the service into the box from a free kick, the ball bounced around in the box before Cutler chipped the keeper from the top of the 18 yard box to put the Falcons ahead.

"Wesleyan is a very difficult place to come and so we are very happy with the result." said Associate Head Coach Carl Nolan. "We got what we expected in a challenging and physical match, but the lads put in a good performance and got a good win on the road."

The Falcons, who are currently ranked second in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), will return home to face the Rams from Shepherd on Saturday October 19th at 3:00 p.m.
