Box Score
INDIANAPOLIS – The Notre Dame Falcons won their 20th game in a row on Thursday evening, as they took a 2-1 decision against Indianapolis in their 2012 opener.

The Falcons (1-0) have not lost since dropping the 2010 NAIA National Championship against Hastings (Neb.), and have now won six straight season openers, dating back to the 2006 season.

Notre Dame took the lead at the 12:01-mark, when Tom Owens found the back of the net on a free kick.  Indianapolis answered in the 42nd minute, on Brett Greubel's goal.

The eventual game winner was produced by Jacob Sheppard, from Owens.  The goal was scored off a corner kick at the 50:49-mark to clinch the NDC victory.

The shots were dead even on both sides, with both teams registering six shots apiece.

Notre Dame will be in action again on Saturday, Sept. 8, when they begin conference play in their Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opener on the road against Lake Erie.  The contest is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
