NDC improves to 8-2 overall

LYNDHURST, Ohio-   The Falcons defeated the Oilers of Findlay 4-0 on Friday evening at Korb Field. The win marked Notre Dame's fourth shutout of the year.

The Falcons come into the weekend ranked 13th in the nation (NCAA- II) in scoring on the campaign.  NDC have averaged 3.0 goals per game.  It has been home sweet home for Notre Dame offensively this season with McBride's squad scoring 14 goals over four home matches on the year.

The Falcons attacked first on offense on an overcast evening at Korb Field when an own goal by Findlay was attempted at the 22:33 minute-mark giving the blue and white an early 1-0 lead.  The Falcons continued to stay aggressive near the net when senior defender Jacob Sheppard netted a rebound header for his fifth goal of the season at 28:06 minute-mark.  That goal gave NDC a 2-0 advantage with Declan McGivern being credited on the assist.

The blue and white continued to dominate on offense finding creases in the Findlay defense.  Freshman midfielder Ryan Ware netted his first goal of the season from Tom Owens at the 50th minute-mark making the score 3-0 for the Falcons. 

Notre Dame added the fourth goal of the evening when midfielder Erik Beattie at the 73:06 minute-mark tallied his seventh goal of the year.  Kinsey LaCrone was credited on the cross pass.

Notre Dame's offense outshot the Oilers 20-8.       

The blue and white will be back in action, home at Korb Field when they host the Dragons of Tiffin University on Sunday (noon).
