Postgame Notes -- NDC vs. Kentucky Wesleyan

Partridge piles up 353 passing yards in loss

LYNDHURST, Ohio -- Noting Notre Dame's 38-13 loss to Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday:

GAME NOTES …

* Notre Dame's loss marked the team's third in a row and its first this season at Korb Field.  The Falcons had been 3-0 at Korb (other home loss -- Malone on Oct. 29 -- was at Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio).

* Kentucky Wesleyan's time of possession (36:34) was the highest by a Falcon foe since Sept 3 (Mercyhurst-Pa. 37:02).

* NDC committed its most turnovers in a game (six) and finished at minus-six in turnover margin.  Over its three-game losing streak, the Falcons are a minus-nine.


OFFENSE NOTES …

* Notre Dame had two rushing first downs in the game (a program low) and 15 first downs through the air (a program best).  Notre Dame rushed for just 50 yards on 20 carries, marking the first time all season the Falcons have been held under 100 yards.  NDC's 50 yards mark their lowest total since last season's opener (34 yards at Mercyhurst, Aug. 28).

* Quarterback Rob Partridge set new Falcon records in both passing completions (28) and yards (353).  Partridge's yardage total is the first over 300 in program history.  The Massillon, Ohio, native tossed two touchdown passes and now has 14 on the season.

* Partridge completed 68.3 percent (28-of-42) of his passes, the third-highest single-game percentage in program history.

* Wide receiver Michael Fields hauled in a game-high seven passes.  He now has 38 catches on the season.  Six NDC players recorded three or more catches in the game.  Wide receiver Keifer Titus recorded his team-best sixth TD catch; he caught four passes for 68 yards.

* H-back Jack Foy had five catches in the game.  Foy has registered multiple catches in all 10 of Notre Dame's games this season.  He has a team-high 40 catches on the year.

*  NDC went 5-of-10 on third downs, marking its highest conversion rate since the Ave Maria-Fla. game (Oct. 15).


DEFENSE NOTES …

* The Falcon defense failed to force an opponent turnover for the first time since Nov. 13, 2010.

* Notre Dame held KWC to a rushing average of 3.6 yards per attempt.  That effort marks the fifth time in NDC's last six games that the defense has held its foe under 4.0 yards per carry.

* Safety Bo Grunder led the team in tackles, with eight.  Grunder now has a team-high 78 tackles on the season.

* Defensive tackle Brandon Bucknell had another solid game in stopping the run and in pestering opposing ball carriers in the backfield.  Bucknell was credited with seven tackles and two tackles for loss.  As a team, Notre Dame had seven tackles for loss.

* The NDC defense was held without a sack for the first time since Sept. 17 (six-game streak).
