Notre Dame 14, Lindsey Wilson 10

OFFENSE …

FIRST AND FOREMOST
NDC's first play from scrimmage in Saturday's game was a 32-yard run by sophomore running back #Tim Donald#. That's the Falcons' longest play from scrimmage in the young season.

SECOND AND 10
Notre Dame's second play from scrimmage was a 23-yard pass play to wideout #Derrick Paster#. Paster made four catches on the day; he now has a team-high 10 receptions this season.

DEFENSE …

GRUNDER FIRE
#Bo Grunder# had six solo tackles (seven total) and broke up a pass in Saturday's win. While that performance may have been his best thus far in his collegiate career, it was nothing new for Grunder. The Massillon, Ohio, native had more than 100 tackles last fall when he earned Ohio Division I co-Defensive Player of the Year honors en route to leading his high school team (Washington) to the state semifinals.

STOPPING THE RUN
For a second straight week, the Notre Dame defense was solid against the run. The Falcons, who allowed 92 yards on 38 carries (2.4 rushing average) in the Mercyhurst game, allowed just 32 yards on 33 carries Saturday. NDC tallied double figures in tackles for a loss in both games (10 in each). Seven different players garnered tackle-for-loss credit in Saturday's victory.

SACKMASTER
#Bob Hansen# had three sacks totaling 26 yards against Lindsey Wilson. The NDC co-captain has already amassed five sacks this season. In one series against the Blue Raiders on Saturday, Hansen single-handedly retired the home team's offense with his own three-and-out. The 6-foot-2, 255-pound Berea, Ohio, native picked up quarterback sacks on first and third downs, and batted down a pass attempt in between on second down.

SPECIAL TEAMS …

A NAIL IN THE COFFIN
On Notre Dame's first punt of the day, #Cayle Chapman# skied a coffin-corner attempt down the left sideline. With the ball bounding toward the end zone, a sprinting Jesse Williams made a fine play, swatting the ball out of bounds at the one. … For the day, Chapman put three kicks inside the 20; he averaged 36.8 yards per punt.

FALCON BLOCKADE
#Derrick Smith# made a key play that led to the Falcons' second TD of the day. The Glenville High School (Cleveland) product blocked a Blue Raider punt that the Falcons then downed at the 3-yard line. Three plays later, Pedro Powell wriggled his way into the end zone to put the Falcons up, 13-3 (14-3 with the ensuing point-after). … Notre Dame had its first drive of the day end with a blocked field goal attempt. The #Jeremy Geier# attempt had its timing disrupted by a low snap.
