The Falcons would outshoot the host Pioneers 16-4 and hold a 4-0 advantage in corners through the opening 45 minutes, but neither team would find the back of the net.
The second half of regulation would end just as the game began with the score level 0-0.
Playing their second consecutive overtime match of the season, the Blue and White would make quick work of the Pioneers scoring at the 1:31 mark of overtime. #Tom Owens#' a freshman from Liverpool, England would put the finishing touch on #Mohamet Sougoufara#'s cross to the penalty spot. Sougoufara picked up his 10th assist as Owens' scored his first collegiate goal, sending the Falcons to their 17th consecutive win and 12th shutout of the season.

Michael "Mac" McBride coached his 200th match on Saturday Oct. 23, 2010. The Falcons defeated Roberts Wesleyan 1-0 in OT on homecoming. McBride's record since the program's inception in 2001 is 134-52-14.
UNBLEMISHED: The Falcons 17 wins marks the most wins in a regular season, the 2008 Falcons 19 wins ranks best all-time for a season.
POW ER: #Alex Klein# becomes the Falcons eighth AMC Offensive or Defensive Player of the Week selections; he becomes only the second Falcon to receive multiple weekly honors in 2010 after first earning the honor for Sept. 27-Oct. 2. #Luke Holmes# became the first NDC player to repeat when he earned Offensive Player of the Week (Oct. 10-16), #Tom Mellor# earned Offensive Player of the Week (Oct 3.-9), #Alex Klein# and #Ryan McGreevy# earned respective Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week (Sept. 27-Oct. 2), #Mohamet Sougoufara# earned Offensive Player of the Week (Sept. 20-26), #Luke Holmes# and #Daniel Knight# earned respective Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week (Sept. 6-12.). Holmes also earned the NAIA National Offensive Player of the Week (Sept. 6-12).
POW'S NOT MISSING ACTION: Last season the Falcons had players honored four times in 2009, Luke Holmes on three occasions and Jonathan Morris once. Craig Pickering, George Kephart, #Steven Kane#, and Andrew Carr were all recognized once in 2008, the Falcons previous best for individual honors.
BETTERING THE BEST: The Falcons have bettered the 2008 NAIA Tournament squad's nine game winning streak (17), blew the 2009 NAIA Tournament squad's previous best of four wins to open a season (17), surpassed the previous best 3 straight shutouts previously held by the 2004 (twice), 2005 and 2007 squads (7). And surpassed the most shutouts in a season (12), the previous best 9 shutouts in a season was held by the 2005 squad who made it to the programs first NAIA National Tournament.
STREAKING FALCONS: Notre Dame is tied for the fourth longest active streak of being consecutively ranked in the NAIA Top 25 with 27 consecutive weeks. The NAIA has 220 schools that sponsor men's soccer. Soccer is the largest single division sport for men in the NAIA. Only Men's Basketball has more schools. 261 schools sponsor basketball split between Division I (116) and Division II (145).
