This Week:Â Notre Dame College acrobatics & tumbling is traveling to Angola, Ind. for a non-conference tri-meet versus Trine University and Adrian College, on March 16. The competition begins at 5 p.m.
Records:Â NDC is currently 2-2 on the season, coming off of a win against Buffalo State. Trine has started the year 2-1, but is looking for its first win of this month. Adrian has competed twice, falling both times to start the year at 0-2.
Coaches Corner:Â
Nikki Pizzi started the NDC program and is in her second season coaching the Falcons. Alexis Harris is in her first season leading Trine and Emily Buffington is also in her inaugural campaign leading Adrian.
Rankings:Â None of these teams are ranked in the National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA) national poll.
Noting the Falcons: Notre Dame continues to improve. In the season opener, against nationally-ranked Frostburg State, the Falcons set a program record with a score of 233.685 in a loss. NDC then picked up the program's first non-forfeit win against West Virginia State, on Feb. 16. And on March 3, the Falcons won their first home meet and set another program record with 241.730 points against Buffalo State.
Against Buffalo State, Notre Dame was just 2.35 off of its start value in the entire Pyramid Event, finishing with a 26.25 after the three heats. In the Synchronized Heat, Notre Dame posted an 8.80 out of 9.50. And then in the Open Heat, the Falcons had a start value of 9.60, and were given a 9.05.
NDC also did very well in the Tumbling Event against BSU, finishing with a score of 47.30. The Trio Pass was solid, as NDC posted an 8.15, with a start value of 9.10. In the Aerial Pass,Â

That meet also marked the first time that the NDC program competed against a team outside of the Mountain East Conference.

Noting the Storm: Trine began the season with two impressive victories over Concordia-Wisconsin (237.725-219.500) and Buffalo State (246.780-123.400) in February. However, in their home opener on March 3, TU posted a season-low 229.755 in a loss to Glenville State.
Last season, Trine defeated Adrian and East Texas Baptist in the NCATA Division III Tournament. In the championship matchup, the Storm fell to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, taking second place.
Noting the Bulldogs: Adrian has faced Concordia-Wisconsin twice this season. To open the season, the Bulldogs posted just 86.475 points in a lopsided loss. Nearly a month later, competing at home on March 7, Adrian improved to 113.425. Despite Concordia's score dropping 75.035 points, Adrian was unable to grab the victory.
AC did not win a meet last season, but took home five victories in 2022, including second place at the Division III Tournament.
