SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – For the third consecutive meet, Notre Dame College set a program record score. On Thursday afternoon, the Falcons met a Mountain East Conference foe for the first time since Feb. 16, as Glenville State University entered Murphy Gymnasium. Despite falling by a score of 260.185-250.025, NDC hit the 250-mark for the first time in program history.

Right away, Notre Dame improved from last week in the Compulsory Event, posting a program record 36.1. The Falcons had an 8.75 in the Acro Heat, a 9.4 in the Pyramid Heat, 9.7 in the Toss Heat and a score of 8.25 in the Tumbling Heat, which were all up from the tri-meet sweep last weekend. NDC did beat Glenville State in the Tumbling Heat, 8.25-8.10.
The Falcons stumbled a bit in the Acro Event and the Pyramid Event. They had a total of 23.70 in Acro and 25.65 in Pyramid. NDC did have some highlights as they recorded a 9.05, out of 9.6, in the 7-element Heat of the Acro Event and then posted a 9.25, out of 9.5, in the Synchronized Heat and 9.4, out of 9.6, in the Open Heat of the Pyramid Event.
Notre Dame wrapped up the first half of competition with an 85.45, but then posted a program record 164.575 in the second half with three strong events to end the day.
NDC bumped its scores up from last week in every heat of the Toss Event and finished just 0.7 off of its start value (27.10 out of 27.80). The Falcons had a start value of 9.00 in the 450 Salto Heat and posted an 8.85. With a 9.40 start value in both the Synchronized Heat and the Open Heat, Notre Dame posted a 9.1 and a 9.15, respectively. The Falcons defeated GSU in both the Synchronized Heat (9.1-8.8) and the Open Heat (9.15-9.05).
In the Tumbling Event, NDC reached 50 for the first time ever (51.025), just 1.53 off the start value. As Glenville State fell off its start value by nearly four points, Notre Dame made up some ground by scoring higher in four of the six heats. The Falcons had a 7.3, with a start value of 7.5, in the Duo Pass before scoring an 8.7, out of 9.1, in the Trio Pass and an 8.05, out of 8.5, in the Quad Pass.
Amanda Cooper posted an 8.625, with a start value of 8.85, in the Aerial Pass, while
Sydney Gibson was flying through the air for a 9.325, out of 9.5, in the 6-element Pass.
Kati Rice impressed again and posted a 9.025, out of 9.1, in the Open Pass.
The Falcons finished just behind GSU in the Team Event, with an 86.45.
NDC will wrap up the regular season with a trip to Fairmont State, on March 30. That meet is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
