NDC volleyball takes fourth in the North in MEC Preseason Poll

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Notre Dame College volleyball team has been picked to finish in fourth place in the MEC North Division and ninth overall, as voted on by the league's coaches. (Release)

Last season, Notre Dame concluded with a record of 14-19 (8-8 MEC) and earned a berth into the MEC Tournament for the fifth year in a row. The Falcons 2022 campaign wrapped up in the First Round of the tournament with a three-set loss to top-seeded Charleston (25-19, 25-18, 25-18).

NDC featured a trio of All-MEC performers from a year ago, with sophomore Ryleigh Ronald as the lone returner for the Falcons. Ronald secured a spot on the MEC All-Freshman Team as well as All-MEC Honorable Mention upon registering 186 kills, 97 blocks and a .281 attack percentage. Alongside Ronald, Notre Dame welcomes back key contributors, Samantha Comer, Kiley Kalina, Grace Smotek, Jayme Zoeckler and Kelsie Palmer from a year ago.

A slew of new talent also arrives in South Euclid, Ohio under first year head coach Erica Kostelac as the Falcons welcome Diamond Baker, Sydney Bray, Olivia Jones, Shay Monahan and Lilliana Mook into Murphy Gymnasium.

The Notre Dame College volleyball team begins their 2023 campaign on Friday Sept. 8 when the Falcons travel to the University of Indianapolis for the UIndy Tournament.
