This Weekend: Notre Dame College men's rugby is in Washington, D.C. for the National Collegiate Rugby National 7s Championships, which takes place from April 28-30. Competing in the Men's Premier Cup bracket, NDC is the No. 1 seed in the south region. In the first round, they will take on East Carolina University, the No. 8 seed, on April 28 at 12:18 p.m.

Looking Ahead: If Notre Dame defeats East Carolina, they will play the winner of the No. 5 seed Belmont Abbey-No. 4 Siena matchup, on Saturday. On the other side of the regional bracket, No. 3 Aquinas battles No. 6 Iona in the first round and No. 2 Mary Washington faces No. 7 James Madison. (

Noting the Falcons: For their work in the fall 15s season, Notre Dame College had five players given All-Rugby East Conference honors.
Fadzai Mushonga took First Team honors,
Lachy McDonald earned Second Team honors while
Hugh Johnston,
Lukas Duhigg and
Tanner Smith took Honorable Mention. Mushonga was recently named All-American.
NDC has had a strong spring campaign, notably taking first place at the NashBash Tournament in Nashville, Tenn. In the semifinals, the Falcons shutout the University of Tennessee, 19-0, to get to the finals. A forfeit in the final round allowed NDC to take the trophy.
Last season, Notre Dame went 4-1 in the 7s Nationals, defeating Army, 15-12, in the Premier Champion Plate Semifinals and taking down the University of Notre Dame, 22-0, in the Finals.
In the spring of 2017, Notre Dame became national champions after defeating the University of California Davis, 40-20.
