Notre Dame acrobatics & tumbling posts highest total score in program history

GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Just two days after competing in front of the home crowd for the first time in program history, Notre Dame College was back on the road. On Monday, the Falcons posted a final score of 184.355, which is the highest mark the team has posted in its first three meets. Glenville State University won the meet with a score of 257.115.

NDC did not show any fatigue when they took the floor on Monday, and improved their score in almost every event from the previous meet.

To start the day in the Compulsory Event, the Falcons posted two 9's, as they did in the first meet of the year. The Falcons had a 9.1 out of 10 in the Pyramid Heat and a 9.45 out 10 in the Toss Heat.

The team flourished, once again, in the Pyramid Event. NDC posted an 8.85 out of 9.8 in Heat 1, an 8.1 out of nine in Heat 2 and an 8.5 out of 9.2 in Heat 3. In that event, overall, the Falcons were off of their start value by just 2.55.

Late in the Tumbling Event, the Falcons went to work and posted impressive numbers. In the Aerial Pass, an 8.175 out of 8.75 was award to Notre Dame, while an 8.025 out of 8.45 was announced for the 6-Element Pass. Finally, the Open Pass garnered an 8.475 out of 9.1. The Falcons totaled 43.575 in that event and were just 4.87 off of the start value.

The mark for the team routine was the highest the team has ever scored, by over six points. On Monday, the Falcons posted a 47.68 in the final event of the day.

Notre Dame will have some time away from competition before taking the floor at home, against No. 15 West Liberty University, on March 16. The start time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
