Acrobatics & Tumbling competes at home for first time on Saturday, travels to Glenville State on Monday

Upcoming Meets: Notre Dame College acrobatics & tumbling hosts No. 12 Frostburg State University in the Murphy Gymnasium, on Feb. 25, at 6 p.m. This will be the Falcons' first home meet in program history. NDC will travel to compete at Glenville State University, on Feb. 27, at 7 p.m.

Records: Notre Dame is 0-2 after competing for the first time against No. 7 Fairmont State and Glenville State on Feb. 12. Frostburg State enters the weekend with a 1-0 record, after defeating King University, 270.335-256.335, on Feb. 18. Glenville State has a 1-2 record, losing to Fairmont State (266.3-257.13) and West Liberty (249.41-248.805) and defeating Notre Dame (257.13-179.67).

Coaches Corner: Nikki Pizzi was named the first head coach of Notre Dame's program in August 2021. Katie Nunley enters her second season at Frostburg State. Taylor Broadwater enters her first season as head coach at Glenville State.

Rankings: In the National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA) national poll, Frostburg State is ranked No. 12 in the country.

Noting the Falcons: Notre Dame got on the mat for their first competition, a little less than two weeks ago. The team put up an overall total of 179.67, which included a 9.25 out of 10 in the pyramid heat and a 9.00 in the toss heat of the compulsory event. NDC had some solid performances in the tumbling event. In the aerial pass, Notre Dame scored an 8.25 out of 8.75 along with an 8.125 out of 8.5 in the open pass.
 
Noting the Bobcats: In Frosburg's first meet of the season, the Bobcats looked solid against King. In the compulsory event, the team posted a score over a 9.0 in three of the four heats. That included a 9.85 out of 10 in the pyramid heat. They posted three nines in the pyramid event, with a 9.75 in the synchronized heat and a 9.8 in the open heat. In the toss event, the Bobcats had a 9.75 out of 9.9 in the open heat. In both the pyramid event and toss event, FSU was just one point off of its start value.
 
Noting the Pioneers: Last Sunday, Glenville State traveled to No. 15 West Liberty University and lost by just 0.605. The Pioneers scored a 9.8 out of 10 in the pyramid heat and 9.75 out of 10 in the toss heat of the compulsory meet. In the pyramid event, the Pioneers were below their start value by just 2.15, and posted a 9.75 out of 10 in the open heat. In the toss event, the Falcons were off on the start value by 1.45, and had a 9.55 out of 9.9 in the first heat.
