Coaches Corner: Mike Shiels headlines the Notre Dame women's soccer program for his 20
th season at the helm. Shiels carries a 188-118-30 career record, to go along with three MEC Tournament championships and four MEC Coach of the Year honors. Michael Cracas is in his second season as head coach of the Tiffin program, holding a 6-11-2 career record.

Series History: Since 2011, NDC and Tiffin are 1-1 against each other, with the Dragons claiming the most recent contest during the 2012 season.

Noting the Falcons: Notre Dame is fresh off their season opening victory over Edinboro, 2-0. EU outshot NDC 9 (5) to 7 (6), but goals by freshman
Emma Buda and junior
Madison Marino ensured the victory. Buda was credited on an own goal in the 30
th minute, as Marino doubled the Falcon advantage off an assist from
Hannah Smith seven minutes later. In addition, Senior
Jordan Pasalaqua garnered MEC Defensive Player of the Week honors after saving five shots and recording her 18
th career clean sheet during the match.

So far, Buda and Marino lead the team on offense with one goal, two points and two shots taken apiece. Junior
Anaya Edwards also created opportunities during the opener as she registered a pair of shots on goal.

As aforementioned, Pasalaqua generated five saves on nine shots faced during the match en route to her clean sheet. The Madison, Ohio native now has 181 saves during her NDC career, which is third all-time.

On the young season, NDC has seven shots, three corner kicks and five saves made.

Noting the Dragons: Tiffin's first week of play featured a victory in the season opener (1-0) against Lewis University, before drawing with Illinois-Springfield, 2-2. Against Lewis, TU was lifted by Kristen Dickinson's 17
th minute goal, while goalkeeper Malea Nelson posted a clean sheet on eight saves. In their second match, Dickinson got the Dragons on the board first during the 10
th minute. UIS responded with a pair of rapid-fire goals in the 60
th and 62
nd minutes to leap in front 2-1. In the clutch, Ryan Kunkle netted the equalizer for Tiffin in the 88
th minute to ensure a draw. Andrea Parker was in goal for UT this time, allowing two goals to go with eight saves.

As previously mentioned, Dickinson is the offensive leader on this team with two goals, three shots, three shots on goal and four points, to pace the team. In addition, Kunkle, Kaelynn Harkness and Leia Rienerth are the other Dragons to have taken multiple shots so far.

Tiffin has flipped goalkeepers between their two contests, in Nelson and Parker. Both goalies posted eight saves, but Parker allowed two goals during her collegiate debut, while the sophomore (Nelson), garnered a shutout in the opener.

As a squad, Tiffin has taken 13 shots, had four corner kicks and 16 saves made this season.
