MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Notre Dame College's Ben Ross has been recognized by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) on Wednesday afternoon. The redshirt sophomore becomes the first player in program history to be honored by the D2CCA as he garners Second Team All-Atlantic Region. With the award, Ross adds to his slew of accolades which includes becoming the first player in NDC history to be named the MEC Player of the Year, while also adding First Team All-MEC honors this season. Ross was a key contributor to Notre Dame's success in 2022, which featured nine more wins as compared to 2021, including six more victories inside the MEC. In 2022, NDC notched their first MEC Tournament berth since 2019, the same season the Falcons last nabbed 20 wins. Moreover, NDC posted their first 20-win season inside the conference since 2016.
 
For the season, the Springfield Shawnee High School product led NDC on offense in every major offensive category as he was the only Falcon to play in and start all 52 games this season. Ross posts a .392 batting average, 1.199 OPS, .747 slugging percentage, .452 on base percentage, 73 hits, 20 doubles, two triples, 14 home runs, 60 RBIs, 139 total bases and 53 runs scored. Amongst the Mountain East Conference, the redshirt sophomore finished tied sixth in batting average, third in OPS, second in slugging percentage, second in total hits, third in doubles, tied for 13^th in triples, third in home runs, second in RBIs and first in total bases.
 
The Springfield, Ohio native has enjoyed an illustrious career to this point with several program records in his name. This season alone, Ross set the NDC single season record in hits, RBIs, home runs, runs scored, total bases, intentional walks and sacrifice flies, all while being tied for the single season doubles record which he set last season.
