ASHLAND and WOOSTER, Ohio – The Notre Dame College swimming and diving team had a busy weekend, as the Falcons traveled to Ashland University on Friday, before a tri-meet at Wooster with Bluffton on Saturday. NDC fell to Ashland on both sides, while placing second on Saturday.
The NDC women lost 140-89 to AU and 168-100 vs. Wooster, while handling BU 193-15. On the men's side, the Falcons fell 155.5-61.5 to the Golden Eagles and 186-76, as they defeated the Beavers 194-6.
Senior
Hannah Berlin grabbed the first event victory for the in the 200 yard freestyle, touching the wall at 2:03.73.
Fellow senior
Brooke Dobrzanski grabbed the next event, with a first-place finish in the 50 yard freestyle (25.93).
Junior
Ashton Smith earned the first win on the men's side with a 22-flat in the men's 50-yard freestyle.
Senior
Alexis Torosian nabbed a first place in the 200 yard butterfly (2:23.50), eight second ahead of second place.
In the 100 yard freestyle, sophomore
Courtney Ledbetter and junior
Abrielle Junge nabbed a one-two finish for NDC at times of 57.26 and 58.73, respectively.
Senior
Roan Kelleher tied AU's Andrew Oates in the men's 100 yard freestyle at a time of 50.15.
Claiming her second individual victory of the day, Berlin won the 500 yard freestyle by 14 seconds (5:27.15).
Rounding out the Friday dual meet, was the women's 400 yard free relay, comprised of Junge, Ledbetter, Torosian and Dobrzanski, who won at a time of 3:50.43.
On Saturday, the NDC men's relay of

Austin Arnold, Smith and Kelleher started the day with a bang, edging out Wooster by .01 seconds at a time of (1:40.52).
Berlin picked up where she left off with an eight second victory in the 1,000 yard freestyle (11:05.39).
Next, Dobrzanski (26.06) and Junge (26.62) brought home much needed points for Notre Dame in the 50 yard freestyle with the top two times.
In the very next event, Smith continued to dominate the sprint freestyle events with a 50 free victory (21.87).
Dobrzanski generated her second victory of the day with a 56.84 in the 100 yard freestyle.
In the men's 200 yard backstroke, Thomas touched the wall more than seven seconds head of second place, with a 2:01.22.
Berlin earned the sweep in the distance freestyle events, winning the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:27.91.
Smith nabbed the last individual event victory for Notre Dame in the 100 yard butterfly (52.97).
Less than 24 hours ago, the NDC women brought home the 400 yard free relay title, they did so once again. The quartet of Junge, Torosian, Ledbetter and Dobrzanski swam a 3:50.99 to win the event for the second straight day.
The Notre Dame College swimming and diving team will be back in action on Thursday Nov. 17 for the Midseason Invite at Oberlin College.
