This Week: The Notre Dame College women's soccer team will host a pair of Mountain East Conference foes this week. On Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 3 p.m. the Falcons will take on Davis & Elkins College, before turning around to play the University of Charleston on Sunday Oct. 9 at 3 p.m.

Records: NDC is currently 3-4-2 and 2-3-2 inside the MEC. On the other hand, D&E sits at 5-4 (4-4 MEC), while Charleston is 5-5 (5-3 MEC).

th season at the helm. Shiels carries a 190-122-32 career record, to go along with three MEC Tournament championships and four MEC Coach of the Year honors. Alberto Magana is the head coach of Davis & Elkins College. Todd Diuguid is in his 22
nd season with the Charleston women's soccer team.

Series History: The Falcons are 1-1 all-time against the D&E Senators, dating back to their first meeting in 2019 and including D&E's 1-0 victory last season. NDC maintains a 10-4-1 all-time record against Charleston, dating back to their first meeting in 2013 and including UC's 2-0 victory last season.

Noting the Falcons: Last week, Notre Dame split their pair of matches, beginning with a 3-0 victory at Wheeling. The Falcons registered 20 shots as junior
Madison Marino netted two goals in the win. On Sunday, Notre Dame fell 1-0 to West Virginia Wesleyan after playing with 10 players for the majority of the match. Senior goalkeeper
Jordan Pasalaqua generated a season-high seven saves in each match.

The aforementioned Marino leads the Notre Dame College offense with four goals scored on the season. She ranks second on the team in shots (18) and shots on goal (12).

Seven different Falcons have recorded an assist on the season, while no player has tallied more than one.

Defensively, Pasalaqua has played stellar as of late as she recently picked up her fourth clean sheet of the season and 21
st of her career. She is now tied for the second-most shutouts for a career in NDC program history. The Madison, Ohio native has logged 36 saves, a .818 save percentage, 1.00 goals against average on 85 shots faced this year. Stacking up against the MEC, Pasalaqua ranks first in shutouts, third in goals against average, third in save percentage and fifth in saves per game (4.5).

As a team, Notre Dame has scored 12 goals on 11.0 shots per game, to go with seven assists, 38 corner kicks and 44 team saves. NDC currently ranks fourth in the nation in terms of shot accuracy (.657), by tallying 65 of their 99 total shots on target.

Noting the Senators: Last week, Davis & Elkins College went 1-1 during a quick turnaround. After falling 3-1 on Thursday at Fairmont State, the Senators bounced back with a 4-1 victory at home on Saturday over Alderson Broaddus. Nao Kawasaki buried a pair of goals during the win over AB.

Davis & Elkins boasts a potent offense led by Alexa Karsel. Karsel leads the team in goals (7), assists (5), points (19), shots (33), shots on goal (20) and game-winning goals (3). Karsel ranks second in the MEC in assists, tied for fourth in goals, while being fifth in shots per game and shots on goal per game.

Seven other Senators flash multiple goals on the season, as Seika Ikezoe, Madison Rose and Kawasaki are next in line with four goals scored apiece.

Between the pipes, Katie Clarke is responsible for 33 saves, a .673 save percentage, 2.38 goals against average, after facing 83 total shots. Clarke ranks last in the Mountain East in goals against average and saves per game (4.13).

As a unit, Davis & Elkins has scored 31 goals on 17.0 shots per game, to go with 20 assists, 56 corner kicks and 41 team saves. D&E ranks 11
th in the country in goals, tied for 21

Noting the Golden Eagles: Last week, Charleston began with a 1-0 victory at Concord after Laura Vierhout netted a 69
th minute goal. On Saturday, The Golden Eagles fell on the road to West Liberty 2-1, despite outshooting West Liberty, 15-4.

Charleston is led offensively by Sydney Cavender who is the clear number one option in terms of goals (6), points (13), shots (37), shots on goal (19) and game-winning goals (3). Amongst the MEC, she ranks fourth in shots per game, sixth in shots on goal per game and tied for sixth in goals.

Outside of Cavender, Charleston is balanced offensively with Madison Hansen and Rachel Osborne as the only other Golden Eagles to register multiple goals (2). Lastly, seven UC players have posted one assist on the year.

Defensively, Jordan Maynard has played every minute in goal for UC. She has grabbed 42 saves, a .750 save percentage, 1.40 goals against average, after facing 100 shots on the year. Maynard ranks sixth in goals against average, seventh in save percentage and eighth in saves per game (4.20) in the MEC.
