Box Score WHEELING, W.VA. — The Notre Dame College women's soccer team improve to 2-0 on the year with a win over the Wheeling Cardinals earlier today. The final score of the match was 2-0.
Theron Ruff scored their first goal of the match with a successful penalty kick with about three minutes left in the first half to go up 1-0. The other goal for the Falcons came in the final minutes of the match, and was scored by Katja Josipovic. As a team, the Falcons offense was overwhelmingly productive in comparison to the Cardinals, out-shooting their opponents 18 to four, including ten shots on goal to just two by the Cardinals. In addition to the goal that Josipovic scored, she tried for a goal one other time in the match, and one shot went wide. Madison Marino shot the ball four times, two of which were on goal.
Keeper Jordan Pasalaqua earned her second win of the year. Wheeling shot the ball four times in the entire match, and the two shots that were on goal were both successfully saved by the young Falcon keeper.
The Falcons look to improve to 3-0 when they take the field for a primetime matchup at Fairmont on Fri. Mar. 12. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
