Box Score SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – Notre Dame College and Fairmont State University went head-to-head for four sets on Tuesday, with Fairmont State taking the match, 3-1.
After falling in the first set, NDC jumped back into the match with a second set win. The NDC Falcons fell behind by a score of 24-22, before they started their comeback. NDC tied the score at 24, but Fairmont held leads of 25-24 and 26-25. Notre Dame did not back down and finished the set with three consecutive points. Two of the final three points were kills from sophomore
Kaye Dregalla.
Fairmont State won the third set 25-19. In set four, FSU held a 19-13 lead but Notre Dame went on a 9-3 run and tied the set at 22. Fairmont closed out the set scoring the final three points.
Notre Dame's 95 digs in a four-set match are ninth most in program history. Junior
Amelia Kaeberlein tied her sister, Alexandra's record of 37 digs in a four-set match. Sophomore
Sarah DeGeorge recorded 13 kills and freshman
Kelsie Palmer added 11 kills. Freshman
McKenzie Andrix led the team with 19 assists and sophomore
Mary Harris had 14 assists.
Notre Dame will face No. 21 Wheeling University on Friday, Feb. 26. The match is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
