ADDISON, Ill. -- Notre Dame College bowlers were among 82 teams competing in the Warhawk Open on December 4 and 5, with the Falcons placing 14th in the men's division and 17th among the women.
The tournament wrapped up a Fall semester in which each NDC squad notched three finishes in the top four. Hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, the Warhawk Open was contested at Stardust Bowl, on a low scoring oil pattern on which the field averaged just 173 in the men's division and 163 in the women's division during Saturday's block of six team games, which was followed by 16 Baker games on Sunday.
Junior
Romeo Patrick-Holmes averaged 191 to lead the Notre Dame bowlers, finishing 27th among 313 men competing in the event. Senior Reginald Petty was 35th with a 189 average that included a 222 game. Sophomore
Michael Wiese added a 220 score for the Falcons.
NDC freshman
Olivia Johnson was 43rd among 220 competitors in the women's division with a 172 average. Freshman
Rachel Foreback, who averaged 177 while bowling in five of the six team games, closed Saturday's block with a 207 score, the Falcon women's highest of the weekend.
Midland University won the men's division, while Saint Xavier University captured the women's title.
The Falcon bowlers will return to Addison on January 15 and 16 for the Midwest Collegiate Classic, one of college bowling's ten major Tier I championships.
