According to the USWRF, the award was created to highlight those who exemplify the best qualities of rugby and bring those qualities to the field, to their teams, to the sport and to local and global communities.
"I'm very thankful for this award," Jordan said. "There's been a lot of work behind the scenes with my family and in my community, along with my dedication on the [rugby] pitch. It's good to see that hard work doesn't go unnoticed."
Jordan played on the Notre Dame College women's rugby team from 2012-15, after being one of the first women rugby players to be recruited to NDC.
When speaking about her time at Notre Dame, Jordan talked about being on a new program that introduced the game to many people.
"[The program] was just beginning, but it was refreshing because it introduced the sport to a lot of girls," she said. "NDC is a good place for anyone who wants to play rugby at a competitive level."
NDC women's rugby head coach
Luke Markovich said, "It is a massive accomplishment to be a recipient of such an award and we offer our congrats to Narcisse. The sport of rugby is all about making an impact and Narcisse has taken that one step further by working hard off the field, as well."
A native of Cleveland, Jordan is currently living in England, where she played professionally last year. She plans to return home soon and attempt to earn a spot on the women's national rugby team, the USA Eagles.
Off the field, she has also made an impact. Her studies took her to Cardiff Metropolitan University, where she pursued a Master of Fine Arts degree. Today, the mother of two is a visual artist and through her art, she focuses on mental health awareness in Black women and in Black American communities. To read her entire bio, click
