Men's rugby falls to St. Bonaventure, remains in top-20

OLEAN, N.Y. – On September 21, the men's rugby team traveled to Saint Bonaventure University. Notre Dame College, who came into the game ranked 14th in D1A College Rugby, played a very well-trained Bonaventure team, ranked 13th.

For the Bonnies, it was homecoming weekend and the game was televised on ESPN+.  All of that inspired them to come out and play hard. The Falcons were hit with injuries, which put new faces in the game. Even so, they played physical throughout the contest.

The final score was 32-12 in favor of Saint Bonaventure. The NDC try scorers of the game were Patrick O'Shea and Captain Andrew Guerra.

"We never gave up in the game, which was motivating to see," the NDC coaching staff said. "But the score was not what we wanted to see."

In week four of the D1A College Rugby Rankings, Notre Dame found themselves, once again, in the top-20. This week, they are No. 15. (Release)

On September 29, the Falcons will host Iowa Central Community College, at 11 a.m., on Normandy Field.

"Iowa Central has a great program so this game still will be a challenge," the coaching staff mentioned. "We are hoping to improve and fix tweaks to get right back on track."

In two weeks, the Falcons will be hosting Army, who is another team in the Rugby East Conference. The game will be played on NDC's homecoming weekend and will begin at 4 p.m.
