BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Mountain East Conference announced on Tuesday that junior
Mary Kate McHugh is the Co-Player of the Week, sharing the award with Wheeling Jesuit's Cassie Meyer.
McHugh helped the Falcons to a 3-1 record last week, which included two sweeps. The native of North Canton, Ohio led the team in kills in all four of the games, totaling 63 kills, while also helping defensively, with 40 digs. She earned a season-high 21 kills against Glenville State while also tying a season-high with 22 points against GSC. McHugh recorded three aces and three double-doubles (kills and digs) over the past week.
This is the first MEC Player of the Week that the volleyball program has garnered since November 1, 2016.
The Falcons take on No. 20 Wheeling Jesuit University tonight, at 6 p.m. in the Murphy Gymnasium.
