WHEELING, W.Va. – The Notre Dame Falcons scored a double header split with the Wheeling Jesuit Cardinals on Sunday afternoon, with a 2-0 victory, and a 3-1 loss.
The Falcons (21-21, 14-10 MEC) snapped a three-game losing streak with a 2-0 victory in game one, while the Cardinals (13-23, 12-12 MEC) took the series victory by winning game two, 3-1.
Game One
The trio of
Cam Fuller,
Scott Barnum and
Matt Seekins (3-1) combined to toss a four-hit shutout, as the Falcons came away with a 2-0 win. Fuller tossed the first three innings, and allowed just a pair of hits, before Barnum tossed a pair of scoreless innings, before Seekins took over the in sixth inning, and tossed two scoreless innings of action to grab the win.
Notre Dame scored both of their runs in the top of the sixth inning.
Ross Barker belted a solo homer, his third of the season to snap a scoreless tie, and the Falcons took advance of a Cardinal error to score their next run.
Nick Ely was on third and
Nate Rearick was on first, when Rearick stole second, and an error on the second baseman allowed Ely to score on the play.
Five Falcons hit safely in the contest, and Barker led the way going 2-for-4 with a solo homer.

Keifer Quick, Ely and Rearick all hit safely once.
Game Two
The second game of the day saw the Falcons leave a lot of runners on base. They had 11 hits in the contest, but were only able to scratch one run across, and did so in the top of the first inning on Lett's solo homer to left center.
Wheeling Jesuit was kept off the board through the first five innings of the contest, but tied the game on a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning, before scoring a pair of runs to take the lead in the bottom of the eighth.
Notre Dame left the bases loaded in the sixth, and again in the seventh. In the ninth, they had the tying runs aboard when the Cardinals recorded the game's final out to secure the series victory.
Carter Daniels (1-2) pitched well, despite suffering the loss. He went 7.1 innings, and allowed three runs, only two earned on five hits while fanning two.
Four Falcons hit safely multiple times, while Lett and Ely each hit safely three times in the contest. Barker and Dom Lombardo both added a pair of hits, as NDC ended the twin bill with a total of 17 hits.
The Falcons will return to action on Saturday, April 30, when they return home to All Pro Freight Stadium in Avon, Ohio, for a double header against the Shepherd Rams. The first pitch in game one is scheduled for 1 p.m.
