The Falcons (7-1-2 overall, 6-1-2 MEC) outshot the host Blue Knights by a 16-11 margin in the game, including a 9-4 margin in the first half alone.
One of those nine first-half shots equated to a 13th minute goal by

As the first half progressed, the Falcons continued to maintain ball possession. However, Urbana broke through with a goal in the 30th minute from Kobi Bryant, tying even with the Falcons at 1-1.
The score remained 1-1 at the halftime intermission, and the second half began at a back-and-forth pace as both sides battled for the go-ahead goal. Playing behind a stout Falcons defense,
Samantha Shoemaker made four saves in the second half to keep Urbana off the scoreboard.
Then in the 72nd minute, the NDC offense returned the favor with a clutch goal from
Alexandria Gayle, giving the Falcons a 2-1 lead with less than 20 minutes remaining. The goal came with an assist from Manoa, her second of the game and team-leading fourth of the season.
The Falcons defense remained steady from there on out, holding on to beat Urbana by a final score of 2-1.
With the win, the Falcons improve to 7-1-2 on the season, including a 6-1-2 mark against MEC opponents.
NDC returns to action on Friday, Oct. 7 on the road against the West Liberty Hilltoppers in another in-conference battle. Game time is scheduled for 3 pm.
