Box Score WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The Notre Dame Falcons fought hard but fell in five sets to West Liberty in another Mountain East Conference tilt. 
For the Falcons (1-10, 0-2 MEC) the loss was their sixth in a row, but for the second night in a row, it came against another red hot team, this time in the form of West Liberty (8-8, 2-0 MEC) who has now won five matches in a row. 
In the opening match of the night, the Falcons and Hilltoppers went back and forth, before the Hilltoppers pulled away and took an 18-10 lead. Notre Dame battled back, and came within two (20-18) before the Hilltoppers pulled out a 25-20 win. 
The second set was tightly contested as well, as the Falcons had a 10-9 lead on West Liberty before they scored 10 of the set's next 14 points to take a 20-13 lead, and won the set, 25-18. 
The Hilltoppers on the third set, 25-19, before the Falcons came back to win the fourth set, 25-20, forcing a fifth and final set. The two sides were deadlocked at 8-8, before West Liberty closed out the match with a 15-12 victory. 
Melissa Maczuzak led the Falcons with 12 kills on the day, while adding nine digs and three blocks. 
Lindsay Shirilla had 10 kills for the Falcons to go along with 22 digs. 
Tawny Flareau had 24 assists and 24 digs on the afternoon, while 
Shelby Regiec had 13 assists and 14 digs. 
Tawnia Almaraz had a team high, 25 digs while 
Morgan Toman added 18, and 
Ashley Ohsiek had a team high, five blocks. 
The Falcons are in action again on Tuesday, Sept. 29, when they square off against Ursuline in Pepper Pike, Ohio, in another non-conference tilt. The match is scheduled for a 7 PM start.
