SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio -- Troy Haught has been hired as the new head coach of the Notre Dame College volleyball program. Haught joins the Falcons after spending the last three seasons as the head volleyball coach at Urbana University.
"I'm very excited to have Troy join the Falcon family. He has turned the Urbana program around, and I expect him to do the same thing here," said Director of Athletics
Scott Swain. "I think with Troy at the helm, the future for Falcon volleyball is very bright."
Having coached at Urbana for the past three years, Haught is already familiar with the Mountain East Conference in which the Falcons compete.
"Being in the Mountain East Conference, I've seen the student-athletes already on the [Falcons] team, and we definitely have the depth to make an impact from day one," said Haught. "It's a great school to recruit at, a great area, and I'm excited to get started. There's no reason we can't be at the top of the MEC."
Prior to his time at Urbana, Haught also coached at Brecksville-Broadview High School, as well as Oberlin College before that. Haught also coached the 18U and 17U National Teams at the 2009 AAU Nationals in Disney World.
A native of the Canton area, Haught is looking forward to returning to Northeast Ohio.
"It's a huge homecoming for me," said Haught. "I'm very excited to be closer to my family, and I'd like to thank
Scott Swain and the rest of the search committee for this opportunity."
